In the early spring of 2011, CFSSB Founder, Jack Presnal, had a vision for creating a film production company based upon the strucures and principles of a traditional community theater. Neighbors volunteering to put on a show for the entertainment of others. Purely for the love of doing it. So, in the summer of 2011, an initial Board of Directors was created to help begin the process of creating the world's first community film studio. CFSSB was incorporated in July and received our IRS approval for 501(c)(3) charitable status in December 2011.
We are a member-based, volunteer organization. When you join CFSSB you become a voting member who can run for a seat on the Board, serve on committees, receive priority consideration for production positions, receive discounts on workshops and seminars, and, most importantly, have a whole lot of fun. You don't necessarily need to have any previous experience. Just a willingness to get involved, show up, and learn new things.
We need you! The creation of the CFSSB is a challenge! We need the generous support of local film professionals, hobbyists, regular folk wanting to enjoy production, philanthropists, corporate sponsors, and just generous people to make this work. Nothing like this has been attempted. Ever. Anywhere. We are the pioneers in community-based film making. Join us! |
